Location of Project: Lomas del Aguila, Gualala, Santa Barbara, Honduras.
Project Justification: Why do you need the project?
To improve our improve our community and health. To improve the quality of life of many families in our community that currently have no way to store water.
Supervisor’s Note: A pila is a simple concrete water storage basin. These basin’s allow a family to practice basic hygiene, wash dishes, and maintain an adequate amount of water to weather common temporary water shortages.
Direct Beneficiaries: Who and how many will continually benefit from this project?
86 people living in the benefitted households.
The local mayor will provide blocks and sand ($655).
The beneficiaries will provide assistant’s labor, stone for foundations, and concrete septic hole cover ($1660).
The local church has filled out all necessary paperwork and made multiple trips to the mayor’s office, HTH Honduras office, and other necessary meetings from their rural community.
The remaining construction materials and payment of qualified labor are requested from an outside donor ($5100)
