Soccer with Values

Using soccer as a tool, HTH seeks to transformation in the life of at-risk Honduran youth through the Soccer with Values (SWV) program. By coming alongside and building the capacity of local coaches and mentors, HTH believes that youth can recuperate their identities and hope by increasing social capital, a sense of belonging and support, and the hope that comes from our true identities in Christ. In keeping with the HTH philosophy of Asset-based Community Development (ABCD) and our Christian values, SWV concentrates its efforts on those local persons of peace who love their communities. By empowering coaches and mentors, HTH is investing in a long-term solution that can combat these serious issues from within each community.

Through the SWV program, Heart to Honduras reaches the following goals of impact:

• People who recognize their true identities in Christ.
• People with a greater sense of local belonging.
• Local collaborators that are empowered to fulfill their functions in their communities
