Project Justification: Why do you need the project?
To better the living spaces of families with adobe homes. With a skim coat and plaster coating on the adobe walls we can avoid animals that typically inhabit adobe walls and also make our houses more secure.
Supervisor’s Note: These houses are structurally sound but the walls are made of adobe brick (mix of compacted soil, sand, and cement) that if left exposed can house Triatomine bugs also known as “assassin” or “kissing” bugs know to cause a serious illness called Chagas disease. See the Center for Disease Control website to learn about Chagas disease. http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/chagas/gen_info/index.html
