Water is one of the most basic human needs. In this case, these families do not have pilas and they need a better water supply and water storage to be able to carry out daily tasks. Also, these pila projects contribute to the community goal of taking care of water supply and saving water.
Supervisor’s Note: A pila is a simple concrete water storage basin. These basins allow a family to practice basic hygiene, wash dishes, and maintain an adequate amount of water to weather common temporary water shortages. To learn more about pilas, please visit our “What is a Pila?” page for further explanation http://hth.org/2011/get_involved/projects/what-is-a-pila/
