MEET | Elizabeth Wourms
Elizabeth’s world turned upside-down in 2011 when she made her first trip to Honduras as a staff pastor with an HTH partner church. “I wasn’t prepared to be ‘wrecked’ for the Honduran people and for the mission of HTH,” she tells anyone who will listen. In her role nurturing partner relationships and coordinating team logistics, Elizabeth relishes the privilege she’s had to be on “both sides” of the ministry. Her roles serving both with a partner church and on staff with the ministry afford her a unique perspective on the whole of our mission.
Elizabeth’s understanding of her life mission is to invest in others and equip them for personal and community transformation. The intersection of this discerned calling and the ministry of HTH feels like a “sweet spot.” As a true “education nerd,” Elizabeth can’t seem to get enough of higher education. Having completed both M.Div and D.Min degrees, she’s back in grad school, pursuing a master’s in Pastoral Theology at the Saint Meinrad Seminary & School of Theology in Indiana. Bold and adventurous doesn’t begin to describe her – if there’s an adventure to be had, count her in, particularly if it involves travel!
