Stateside Staff
Sue Longland, Administrative Assistant.
Sue is coming on staff this fall to serve as Gordon’s administrative assistant.
Naturally gravitating towards ministries of compassion and mercy, her heart
has been increasingly drawn to Heart to Honduras since the Mission-Vision
Fest in 2006. After Sue and her niece took a trip to Honduras in July 2008, it
became clear that God was leading her to serve full-time with Heart to
Honduras. Sue’s organizational skills and attention to detail will assist Gordon
in his ministry and will help the stateside staff in various ways.
Sue grew up in New Hampshire, Florida, and California. She took two missions
trips in her high school years to the Dominican Republic and to the east end
slums of London. After graduating from Cedarville College in Ohio (BA
Biology, Minors in Spanish and Bible), she lived in Innsbruck, Austria for
1½ years as a missionary, worked a couple years at a company in Xenia, OH,
and then moved to Seattle, WA. There she worked at a K-12 Christian school for 3 years as the office manager and
part-time Biology/Health teacher. In 2002, Sue returned home to Ohio to be closer to her parents. For the last 6
years, she has assisted the President of Legacy Ministries International, the ministry which owns the campus where
Heart to Honduras is located.
Sue lives in Kettering with her dog, Nick, and enjoys spending time with her Dad who lives on campus in Xenia. Sue
and her Dad attend Fairhaven Church, where she sings in the choir and participates on the World Christian
Mobilization Team. Sue likes gardening, whale-watching, hiking, reading, great coffee, and great movies. She loves
to encourage people and is very fond of Curious George.
