Youth Ministry Support
The Association also sponsors its own area-wide youth ministry, which holds evangelistic campaigns and
organizes regular and special activities to draw youth together and encourage them toward spiritual
maturity.
Heart to Honduras seeks to break this cycle by providing support for rural
teachers' salaries, new schools, improvements to existing facilities,
materials and uniforms for students, supplemental nutrition, vocational
programs and other special projects.
Heart to Honduras seeks to improve not only individual family living areas, but communities as a whole,
helping develop community facilities and services, sponsoring economic ventures and fostering village
beautification efforts.
School of Discipleship (S.O.D.)
The S.O.D. provides a place where believers can come and learn to be followers of Jesus, brush up on
basic educational skills, and master vocational abilities that will equip them to help others materially as well
as spiritually. Brazos Abiertos ministry also uses the SOD to fellowship, worship and learn together. Lastly,
The S.O.D. is also home to Heart to Honduras' School of Discipleship, which prepares young adults from
throughout Central America and the Caribbean basin for fruitful Christian service.
Hope for the Hopeless
Pastoral Support
Most pastors in rural Honduras are subsistence farmers and receive no financial compensation for their
spiritual labor. To help lighten the burden of supporting their families while serving the church and
evangelizing, Heart to Honduras provides supplemental support to Association members.
Church Support
Since its conception, Heart to Honduras has purposed to work through
churches in rural Honduras to the material and developmental needs of their
communities. The ministry has done this through monthly pastor support,
church improvement projects, provision of materials, holding periodic
pastoral meetings, seminars and campaigns, sponsoring children’s and
youth activities, and seeking to equip the churches to meet the physical
needs in their villages.
