Project Justification: Why do you need the project?

In our community there are many families that have very low-income and are in need of improvement in their family’s economic situation.

General Objective: What do you hope to achieve with the project?

That these 15 families can have an improved diet.

Supervisor’s Note: With these projects, each family will be trained in the care of laying hens. Ten hens with one rooster will be kept in a small coop at each family’s home. When properly cared for, these hens will lay 70 eggs/week, allowing each family to improve their nutrition, reduce expenses, and provide a small amount of income from the sale of eggs.

Beneficiaries:  Who and how many will continually benefit from this project?

15 families.

Collaboration:

  1. The local municipal government will provide blocks and sand ($450).

  2. The beneficiary families will provide wood, carpentry labor, and assistant labor ($1520).

  3. The local church will provide assistant labor ($65).

  4. The agricultural engineer that provides the chickens for purchase will provide a training workshop ($45).

  5. Remaining funds for the chickens, chicken wire, feeders, roofing, etc are requested from an outside donor.
