Project: Clinic Waiting Room (Vaccination Area)
Submitted: October 2017
Solicitor: Local Health Committee along with Doctor Keila Yuja
Location: Las Flores, Santa Cruz de Yojoa, Cortes
Project Justification: Why do you need the project?
We need an adequate area for the local mothers that arrive to our clinic to have their children vaccinated. We would like to give them an area where they can wait at ease out of the sun while they wait with their children in their arms.
Supervisor’s Note: Currently these mothers wait outdoors for their children to be vaccinated. Many of these children are infants or very young and all are subjected to strong heat, sun, rain, and other elements as they wait. This public health center serves a large area in a rural setting.
General Objective: What do you hope to achieve with the project?
A better stay for the mothers and children waiting for vaccination. We want to offer them a dignified environment while they wait for the services we provide.
Beneficiaries: Who and how many will continually benefit from this project?
16 communities in the area near Las Flores (including La Concepcion, El Olvido, Las Flores, El Balin and many others).
The local municipal government will provide gravel, sand, and masonry labor ($3300).
The beneficiary communities will provide assistant labor, wood, doors and accessories ($810)
The local church will provide 10 bags of cement ($70).
Remaining funds for construction materials are requested from an outside donor.
