How to Apply

The church should express their desire to have a Sister Church to the Sister Church Coordinator. Together they will discuss how this program works and what needs to be done to begin the relationship. The following steps will need to be followed.

  • A specific Sister Church needs to be selected. Visiting potential churches in Central America is an excellent way to select a Sister Church, or HTH can assign one to you based on your desires and ministry interest.
  • The congregation needs to provide assurances in writing that they are committed and desire to participate as a Sister Church in partnership with Heart to Honduras.
  • We will then send you a covenant that is to be signed by the leadership/pastor of the North American Congregation and the Central American Congregation. This covenant states the support that will be given by both sides in the relationship.
  • We need a picture/photo of the N.A. church building, pastor and leadership team. We will provide pictures of the C.A. church, pastor and leadership. Each church will provide basic information to facilitate communication.
  • The church needs to form a Sister Church team to oversee and coordinate all the work with the C.A. Sister church. This team should include the pastor or their designated representative as well as those that are interested in this ministry.
  • Designate one person as the contact person for the N.A. congregation. This makes communication much less confusing.

We would like to have a formal time to publicly dedicate this relationship both in the North American congregation and the Central American Congregation. These can be scheduled with the Sister Church coordinator.
