Our primary goal in Honduras is to disciple everyone we come into contact with. However, we realize that the circumstances in Honduras dictate that we cannot simply tell them about Christ’s love for them; we MUST also show people Christ’s love. Heart to Honduras has a holistic approach to displaying Christ’s love and helping the people of Honduras.

We recognize that if we are not helping to meet the basic needs of these poor souls (food, clothing, healing & housing) that they may not be able to accept the HOPE that is CHRIST. A new home for a family or widow represents a new start, new hope.
Though often called a “Widow’s House” HTH builds this same structure for families. The ministry originally built only for single moms, but the need was so great that we now build for both families & single moms.
These homes are one of the few things that we GIVE away in Honduras. Homes are provided for families who go through our application process. Widows with children and the elderly are given priority, followed by needy families with a father/husband present. The family must provide their own property to build on. Often this is given to them by other family members.
Over the course of 3-5 days a new home can be built for one of these needy families. Typically Heart to Honduras construction staff clears the land and installs the basic foundations of the house a few weeks in advance of the building groups arrival.
Construction of the actual home starts with framing the walls, followed by the roof and finally concrete floor, doors and windows are added. Additionally you can “customize” the house by adding on items such as a porch, paint the exterior, a high efficiency stove, screen windows, pills (sink, toilet, shower), an elevated loft.
