Christ Set the Precedent
When Kaleb and Stacey Eldridge were approached by Heart to Honduras staff wondering if they had any interest in becoming involved with the ministry they realized that this seemed to present a good opportunity to become involved in international development work – something they had been desiring. A return trip in March confirmed to them that they feel strongly called to the development area of Heart to Honduras’ ministry and they have been approved to join the staff. As you are reading this, Kaleb and Stacey are raising support and preparing to move to Honduras.
Kaleb writes: “We believe that Christ has set the precedent for truly loving the world’s poor and we wish to see that love spread through the ministry of development. … [W]e will spend much of our initial time in Honduras as students of the culture…We feel that the primary objective of our first few months will be establishing and solidifying a solid reputation among the community…[becoming] true neighbors to the people around us. As a secondary objective, we would work with the community to identify felt needs within our community.”
The Eldridge’s plan is to establish themselves socially within the community by living among them, attending church with them, acquainting themselves with the leadership of the community and exploring how they can work together to improve the community. They will model what it means to be a member of a community by cleaning up and making any needed improvements to their personal home, starting a garden, and in general being a good neighbor.
In a concluding paragraph to their proposal they write: “At this point in our lives, our knowledge and experience are very low, and we approach this challenge in absolute humility. We truly have no hope of “saving” or “changing” anyone, but we can be an example and carry Christ.”
Heart to Honduras welcomes this young couple to the ministry and we ask that you join us in praying for their financial support, the timing of their move to Honduras, and for much fruit from their efforts to be Ambassadors Serving the Savior.

I just want to congratulate you on taking this step of faith and obedience to meet needs of those in Honduras. People like you will make a difference, with the Lord’s help.
God bless you.
May the Lord bless you on your step of faith. I just returned from my first mission in Honduras…it touched me to my heart and soul. I will be praying for you!
