The church in Nagarote, Nicaragua received an answer to prayer from an amazing source.  The congregation, led by Pastor Julio and his wife Raquel, had been praying for a permanent location for their church – one that had more space than the small rented building they had been using for several years.

The answer to that prayer came from an unusual source: the local mayor gave them a large lot valued at over $50,000 US!  The mayor is asking the congregation to build a large church building on this lot that will accommodate not only a large worship area, but Sunday School rooms and a space to host a Compassion International center for helping very poor families.

But God’s provision didn’t stop there.  A local man heard about the church receiving property from the mayor and he decided to join the generosity in a big way – he gave them 75 large building blocks, which are three feet tall, two feet thick and four feet long.

And then the pastor went to the hardware store to get some prices on building supplies and the owner of the hardware store decided he didn’t want to be left out.  He gave 10 large bags of cement.

Additionally, the Brazos Abiertos association of pastors has given some money to the project.  As this eNews goes out, it appears that another$2000 will finish the worship facility, with another $5000 needed to build the classrooms and put a fence around the property.

The congregation has been doing more than praying.  They sell used clothes out of their current church building, and they sell food two weekends a month.  The money from both of those efforts goes into the building project.
