What NOT to Take

• Too much stuff! It’s a steep hike to your cabin – extra bags make it that much harder!
• Gifts for an individual Honduran (including staff!) We don’t want to encourage a “gimme” mentality. For instance, gifts given at VBS should be the same for each participant. To ensure equality and eliminate favoritism, all gifts must be approved by your HTH Team Leader.
• Unnecessary billfold items
• Your passport, cash and/or one credit card are all you need!
• Expensive clothing or jewelry
• “Good” luggage: Bags will be transported in the back of trucks – they will get dusty and they might get wet!
• Electronics: iPods, etc. Avoid what may distract you from your focus.
• Tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs : To maintain our Christian witness, our churches, worksites, and the Canchias campus are tobacco, alcohol, and drug-free. Also, please refrain from use anytime you are wearing ministry apparel. You will sign and have notarized an Agreement & Release form promising you will not use these substances at any time during your visit to Honduras -including at hotels.
